CRI INDIA - God Hears and Answers
"What's Cookin?"

By Paul Moore, Trustee

Some of the boys at the Melur orphanage

For months now, the young boys at the orphanage in Melur have been taking a walk before taking their meals. Even though the facility provided by CRI was built with a kitchen for the preparation of the meals, local regulations have since been instituted prohibiting cooking in the same building as where children reside. As a result, the boys have been walking about a quarter mile twice daily to eat at the Bible school campus where their meals are prepared.

When Bro. Thomas shared the situation with us, God placed it on the heart of our ministry partners to meet the need. Bro. Thomas approached the man who owned the small piece of property immediately behind the orphanage. When told what the property was needed for, the man agreed to sell the property for a good price because of its intended purpose. Having learned of the availability of the land, a congregation in Oklahoma was led by God to provide the cost of construction of the building. As a result, the boys will soon be eating in their own home again.

Whether it is a small boy’s lunch by the Sea of Galilee, or the generous hearts of His people on the other side of the world, the Lord still uses what we make available to Him to meet the needs of those who seek Him.

INDIA Boys Orphanage Touched By
God's Girls In Action

By Keith Johnson, Trustee

Velma Baptist Church Girls In Action group

This past fall I was approached following a Sunday service by my pastor's wife, Laurie Deavers about the possibility of our GA's doing a Christmas shoe box gift mission project for the India boys orphanage supported by CRI. I e-mailed Brother Thomas Maher CRI India director and requested photos, names and ages of the 39 boys.

The GA's then went into action collecting gift items to be sent. The boxes were collected and shipped via air freight the week before Thanksgiving. Once in India, however, the boxes were held up in customs and not delivered until the 29th of December. By the smiles on the boys faces, God's gifts are never too late. Thank you Velma Baptist Church GA's!
